Still Life Assignment

Depth of field plays a big part in how the photo is portrayed. With a lower depth of field the viewer sees only the subject in focus and is forced to concentrate on that object, while in a high depth of field the viewer can see the whole picture in focus, and has many things to focus on. To control depth of field you have to choose your distance from the subject wisely, and decide what you want to focus on. For my still life assignment a lower depth of field worked best because I mostly focused on one object and not a whole scene. If I had set up a whole scene of objects a larger depth of field would have been better.
